Sculpterra has won a number of awards over the last 5 years, but nothing prepared us for this year.  Without all the judging and contests having concluded, we got some surprising results from the Orange County Commercial Wine Competition at the Orange County Fair, and the California State Fair Competition in Sacramento.  In Orange County our Viognier received a “Four Star Gold Medal”.  This meant that ALL the judges gave it a gold rating, and out of the 2,700+ wines submitted for judging, only 39 wines received this honor.   We also received a Gold Medal for our 2009 “Figurine”.

At the California State Fair Competition, our 2009 Figurine was awarded Double Gold, 98 points – Best of California, Italian Blend & Best of Class, South Central Coast.  We also received a 95 point Gold Medal for our 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon.  In both contests we received Silver and Bronze medals for some of our other wines. 
Recognition from experts in wine is always nice, but it does not diminish our continuing pursuit of excellence in the production of ALL our wines, and offering quality and value to our wine club members, visitors, and restaurant & grocery customers.  That having been said, we’re waiting to see the results from 4 more prestigious competitions.  I’ll let you know how we do…
