The magnificent gardens surrounding the Sculpterra Winery are highlighted by monumental and inspiring sculptures by John Jagger, a world renowned sculptor. Dr. Frankel’s love for sculpture began over forty years ago in Oslo, Norway when he stumbled upon Frogner Park and the complete life collection of sculptor Gustav Vigeland. These large, beautiful outdoor sculpture forms captivated and inspired him.

Sculpterra Winery is proud to offer visitors an exquisite Sculpture Garden by Sculptor John Jagger. Jagger Sculpture had its inception in the San Jose – Los Gatos area back in 1960. Thousands of sculptures later, Jagger developed into a world class artist, with his genius combining classical form and abstraction into powerful concepts of great beauty. Learn More About John Jagger .

“Puma” is a 15 foot long sculpture which is carved from solid granite - the largest art piece of this type of granite in the world. Seven blocks were cut from the mountain for this piece, and six were fissured.  Only lucky number Seven came out intact.  This CAT weighs 20,000 pounds and the base is part of the same block of stone.
Sculpterra
“Mammoth” is made with the same granite as the “Golden Morning” cat out front.  She weighs 16,000 pounds and is 7 ft. high at the spine line. I have broken up the surface of this animal to express the power and movement I work to expose in all of my animals.  The tusks are White Pearl granite and the Tusk Tips and random toenails are fashioned in bronze.
Sculpterra
“Golden Hooves” is derived  from Jagger’s Dancing Horse Series of 12 cross-hatched bronze rod weldments. This piece is 16 feet high and is the largest horse Jagger has done in this style.
Sculpterra
“The Eternal Flame”is 10 feet high and mounted on a 6 ft. pedestal.  Cross-hatched and semi-abstract, this rendition promotes the thought of God’s eternal and unceasing Love for us.
Sculpterra
“Mermaid” is a two-legged Mermaid cast bronze, standing on her fins, with 2 x 4 foot Angel fish circling her. She is 10.5 ft. high and weighs about 700 lbs.
